Cartoons of the 545th MP Company
A Pictorial History
Prepared by CPT Sam
Reinert
As of May 6, 2010

Throughout the history of the 545th
Military Police Company the unit has had some favorite cartoons and many
of them were even drawn by 545th MP’s themselves. The following is a
photo history of some of these cartoons and drawings for all to enjoy.
Fort Bliss
Horse Cavalry Days

World War
II

Japan

CPT Louis Mehl drawn by a 545th MP at Camp Drake

IG Inspection at Camp Drake, Japan

CPT Mehl was known for his fast
driving and someone in the unit drew this cartoon of him at Camp Drake

This was probably someone in MPI at Camp
Drake who cannot be identified at this late date

There were several artists in the
545th at Camp Drake, Japan and this is just one of the many cartoons
that old veterans and their widows have sent in.

When the 545th first placed their
(Unauthorized) Cav Yellow MP Motorcycles on the road, the Division Chief
of Staff gave CPT Mehl a lot of grief until the PM and the CG finally
authorized the use of them.

When CPT Mehl assigned 1LT Shirley
the additional duty as “Pro Kit/VD Officer” the members of the unit
started calling him LT Protiva.
Korea

Vietnam

Kuwait
There are no cartoons available from
Kuwait at this time
Iraq

If anyone has any MP Cartoons
or cartoons that the MP’s enjoyed and shared with other MP’s (like Bob
on the FOB), please send me copies so that I can add them to this photo
history.
